Students hard at work prepping for the winter concert!

Students have been hard at work preparing for the winter concert. Some classes I will only see two more times before the concert! It's definitely go time. :-)

Here are some photos of Mrs. JR's class practicing their boomwhacker piece on the risers for the first time this school year!

Auditions Next Week Grades 1 and 3

Auditions are next week during music class for grades 1 and 3. Students DO NOT have to try out for a solo if they do not want one. Students will not need to memorize the words for auditions as they will be on the board, but will need to memorize them if they get the solo.

I will be choosing one 1st grader from each class for a solo in the song "Jolly Old St Nicholas". The words students should prepare are:
Johnny wants a pair of skates, Susy wants a sled;
Nellie wants a story book, one she hasn't read,
As for me, I hardly know, so I'll go to rest.

Choose for me, dear Santa Claus. What you think is best.

I will be choosing one 3rd grader from each class for a solo in the song "White Christmas". The words students should prepare are:
The sun is shining. The grass is green.
The orange and palm trees sway.
There's never been such a day,
in Beverly Hills, L.A.

I'm dreaming of a White Christmas,
just like the ones I used to know.
Where the tree tops glisten and children listen,
to hear sleigh bells in the snow.

I will also be choosing one 3rd grader from each class to read a line from our concert script at the concert. Students will audition by reading part of the script that they see on the SMARTboard and do not need to prepare for this. :-)
